Part‑Time House Manager – Meal Prep & Light Childcare

About the role

This part‑time House Manager position supports a busy San Diego family of four, a gentle dog, and a newborn on the way. Working 10‑15 hours per week, primarily afternoons, you will handle childcare, meal preparation, household organization, pet care, and vehicle upkeep while providing flexible coverage for date‑night, weekend, and occasional overnight needs.

Key responsibilities

• Pick up children from school/daycare, provide after‑school childcare, and assist with bedtime routines.
• Prepare and batch‑cook healthy meals and snacks for the children, handle grocery shopping, and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
• Wash, fold, and organize laundry; rotate linens and keep the laundry area stocked.
• Perform daily home resets, light tidying, seasonal clothing swaps, and coordinate deep‑cleaning projects.
• Restock pantry, manage household supply orders, handle returns, dry cleaning, and mail/package processing.
• Care for the family dog – feeding, walking, vet and grooming appointments, and medication administration.
• Fuel, clean, and organize family vehicles; tidy outdoor spaces after play.
• Assist with scheduling vendors, appointments, and special events as the role expands.

Required profile

• Seasoned house manager with a calm, professional presence and strong emotional intelligence.
• Self‑directed, observant, and able to prioritize tasks independently without a fixed checklist.
• Experience caring for infants and young children (newborn to 4 years) and comfort with dog care.
• Authorized to work in the United States, reliable transportation, CPR and First Aid certified, and up‑to‑date on recommended vaccinations.
