Nutrition Service Assistant – Part‑time (3.75 hrs/day)

About the role

The Nutrition Service Assistant supports the daily food service operations at Weston Ranch High School. Working part‑time (approximately 3.75 hours per day) you will help ensure students receive safe, nutritious meals in a clean environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation, portioning, and serving of breakfast and lunch items.
• Maintain sanitation standards by cleaning work areas, equipment, and dining spaces.
• Follow food‑safety procedures, including proper storage, temperature checks, and waste disposal.
• Help with inventory tracking, stock rotation, and basic cash handling when required.
• Support the nutrition staff in setting up service lines and clearing tables during scheduled shifts.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (proof required upon hire).
• Ability to work the designated Monday‑Friday shift (8:45 a.m.–10:45 a.m. / 11:15 a.m.–1:00 p.m.).
• Internal candidates are given preference.
• Willingness to complete pre‑employment TB clearance and fingerprinting at personal cost.

Required skills

• Food safety certification (or ability to obtain district‑approved certification).
• Basic math for portioning and cash handling.
• Ability to follow written procedures and maintain a hygienic workspace.
