Nutrition Service Assistant – Part‑time (2.75 hrs/day)

About the role

The Nutrition Service Assistant supports the daily food service operations at New Haven School, working approximately 2.75 hours each day. This part‑time position ensures students receive safe, nutritious meals in a timely manner.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation, serving, and cleanup of meals during scheduled shifts.
• Maintain compliance with district food safety standards and hygiene protocols.
• Monitor inventory, restock supplies, and report any equipment issues.
• Support record‑keeping for meal counts and attendance.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff and school personnel to ensure smooth service.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (U.S. Department of Education accredited).
• One professional letter of recommendation with signature.
• Desirable experience in a school nutrition program or food‑service industry.
• Completion of a district‑approved food safety certification program.
• Ability to pass TB clearance and fingerprinting pre‑employment checks.
