About the role

Join Oceaneering’s team supporting NASA on the JSC Engineering, Technology, and Science II contract. As a Mission Design Tools Software Engineering Specialist you will work on on‑orbit GN&C and Flight Mechanics software, contributing to human spaceflight and deep‑space exploration programs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop variable degree‑of‑freedom simulations and related software tools for NASA and commercial spaceflight programs.
• Integrate and test new software enhancements within mission design tools.
• Maintain mission design software tools at Class C following established procedures.
• Produce software documentation for deliveries and recommend process improvements.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented with a strong commitment to ownership and superior quality.
• Effective communicator comfortable interacting at all organizational levels.
• Curious, eager to learn, and able to work independently with limited supervision.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C++, Fortran, and Python.
• Experience with Git/GitLab source‑code management.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and software task‑management tools.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and multi‑platform development (Windows, macOS, Linux).
• Use of Microsoft Office for documentation and presentations.
