Mission Design Tools Software Engineer (NASA JETS II)

About the role

Join Oceaneering as a Mission Design Tools Software Engineer supporting NASA’s JSC Engineering, Technology, and Science (JETS) II contract. You will work on software that enables on‑orbit GN&C and flight‑mechanics analysis for human spaceflight and deep‑space exploration programs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop variable degree‑of‑freedom simulations and related tools for NASA and commercial spaceflight programs.
• Integrate, test, and deliver new software enhancements within mission design tools.
• Create and maintain software documentation for each delivery.
• Provide recommendations to improve software design and development processes.
• Support activities to bring mission design software to Class C compliance (NPR 7150.2) and maintain it thereafter.
• Perform additional duties as required by the team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• U.S. citizenship or legal permanent residency and ability to pass a government background investigation.
• Willingness to travel internationally and work in an indoor, environmentally controlled environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with NASA civil servants and contractor staff.
