About the role
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a PRN Medical Laboratory Scientist I specialized in Microbiology. This temporary, fixed‑term position supports the clinical laboratory by providing high‑quality microbiology testing for patient care.
Key responsibilities
- Perform microbiology specimen processing, culture, identification, and susceptibility testing.
- Accurately record and report test results in the laboratory information system.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Participate in quality control, quality assurance, and proficiency testing activities.
- Collaborate with clinicians and other laboratory staff to resolve testing issues.
Required profile
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
- Ability to work a variable PRN schedule as needed.
