About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a PRN (as‑needed) Medical Lab Technician specialized in chemistry to support its clinical laboratory operations. This temporary, fixed‑term position offers flexible shift coverage and contributes directly to patient care through accurate test performance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and STAT chemistry analyses on patient specimens using automated analyzers.
• Maintain quality control and assurance procedures to ensure reliable test results.
• Document test results, instrument maintenance, and any deviations according to laboratory policies.
• Adhere to safety, regulatory, and infection‑control standards in a fast‑paced environment.
• Provide coverage on varying shifts as needed to meet laboratory staffing requirements.

Required profile

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field.
• Current certification (e.g., ASCP) or eligibility for certification.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Ability to work variable shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
