Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Venus Aerospace is pioneering next‑generation rocket engine propulsion and seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and optimise manufacturing processes for advanced propulsion systems. The role works closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure efficient, high‑quality production that meets aerospace standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design optimisation: assess designs for DFMA, check CAD models and drawings for tolerancing and manufacturability, and design tooling as needed.
• BOM management: validate MBOM structure to ensure correct assemblies, parts, and quantities.
• Change management: review, approve, release and distribute technical data for manufacturing and maintain comprehensive documentation.
• Cross‑functional collaboration: work closely with design, engineering, test and analysis teams to integrate specifications into manufacturing workflows.
• Supplier engagement: manage relationships with suppliers and vendors to source and qualify materials for specialised aerospace applications.
• Leadership and training: provide training and support to production personnel to ensure proper execution of processes.
• Continuous improvement: identify opportunities for process enhancements and lead initiatives to implement best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
• 3–5 years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in aerospace propulsion systems.
• Strong understanding of AS9100 standards, ASME drawing standards, aerospace materials and propulsion components.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities, strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, NX or CATIA.
• Experience using JIRA and other Atlassian tools.
• CAM software knowledge.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing methodologies and DFMA principles.
• Knowledge of AS9100 and ASME drawing standards.
