Maintenance Technician – Student Living at Cheatham Street Flats

About the role

The Maintenance Technician ensures that the physical aspects of Cheatham Street Flats – a student‑living community – meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety, appearance, and functionality. You will respond to resident service requests, perform preventative maintenance, and prepare vacant units for new occupants.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders generated from resident requests, diagnosing issues and repairing them in line with policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including pre‑move‑out inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, and final inspections.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, tracking usage and notifying the supervisor of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by picking up trash, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, performing general cleaning, and painting curbs and signage as required.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts whenever possible and using materials efficiently.
• Participate in safety meetings and complete required training to comply with Greystar’s risk‑management policies.

Required profile

• Ability to perform technical and mechanical work in a residential property setting.
• Strong attention to detail for inspections, documentation, and quality of repairs.
• Willingness to follow established procedures, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Capability to work independently while coordinating with vendors and supervisors.
