Maintenance Technician

About the role

Cottonwood Residential is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join the team at The Colony at the Oaks Apartments in Lexington, KY. You will be responsible for keeping the property safe, functional, and welcoming for residents while providing prompt after‑hours emergency service.

Key responsibilities

• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on plumbing, electrical, and carpentry systems throughout the apartment community.
• Respond to after‑hours emergencies as an on‑call technician, coordinating with the Service Manager.
• Maintain common areas, grounds, and building equipment in compliance with safety standards.
• Read and interpret manuals, safety procedures, and work orders in English.
• Document work performed and communicate status to residents and management.

Required profile

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb, stand, walk, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and on‑call shifts.
• Valid driver’s license.
• EPA certification Type II or Universal and CPO certification are a plus.
