Liver Transplant Perfusion Specialist

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a qualified professional to join its transplant team as a Liver Transplant Perfusion Specialist. This position focuses on the safe operation of perfusion equipment during liver transplant procedures and related therapies.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate mechanical circulatory support devices for veno‑venous bypass, normothermic regional perfusion, and isolated organ perfusion.
• Perform hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy procedures as required.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and institutional policies during all perfusion activities.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to optimize patient outcomes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline.
• Certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusionists (ABCP).
• Perfusion license issued by the Arkansas Department of Health or ability to obtain one.

Required skills

• Operation of mechanical circulatory support devices.
• Experience with veno‑venous bypass techniques.
• Knowledge of normothermic regional perfusion and isolated organ perfusion.
• Proficiency in hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy procedures.
