IT Support Specialist (Entry Level)

About the role

The IT Support Specialist provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical assistance to both on‑site and remote users in the Houston Energy Corridor office. You will troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues while delivering excellent customer service and ensuring smooth IT operations.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for technical support via phone, email, and remote tools.
• Install, configure, and maintain Windows and macOS operating systems and company software.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network connectivity, internet, and data security problems.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access in Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
• Perform remote system maintenance, including updates, patches, and security best practices.
• Document issues, resolutions, and procedures in the ticketing system and escalate complex cases.
• Track IT assets, support onboarding/offboarding, and provision equipment.

Required profile

• High school diploma (required); associate degree or IT coursework (preferred).
• 1‑3+ years of experience in IT support, helpdesk, or technical support.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license.
• Strong communication and customer‑service skills.

Required skills

• Windows and macOS operating systems.
• Active Directory user management.
• Microsoft 365 / Office 365 administration.
• Basic networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, VPN, IP networking).
• System imaging, deployment, and patch management.
• Fundamental security practices and data protection.
