Intelligence Research Specialist

About the role

The Intelligence Research Specialist supports multiple CGIC field offices and divisions by collecting, analyzing, evaluating, interpreting, and disseminating intelligence on foreign and domestic trends that affect national security. The position works under the guidance of senior specialists and contributes to both routine and high‑impact intelligence initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Perform operational intelligence functions to aid investigations and case agents.
• Assist senior specialists with liaison services, source debriefings, and exploitation of intelligence information.
• Collaborate with counterpart intelligence organizations to validate information and resolve analytical issues.
• Contribute to larger studies, statistical compilations, and intelligence publications.
• Prepare collection instructions, guides, and manuals for ATF entities and external partners.
• Conduct all‑source intelligence analysis, produce link, visual, and toll‑record analyses, and draft intelligence reports and briefings.
• Utilize computerized intelligence databases to store, retrieve, and report data for field and headquarters use.

Required profile

• Ability to work under direction of senior intelligence specialists.
• Experience in intelligence collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Strong attention to factual accuracy and identification of intelligence gaps.
• Capability to liaise with internal components and external partners.
• Familiarity with statistical and relational reporting for operational decision‑making.
