Institutional Services Assistant

About the role

The Institutional Services Assistant provides essential cleaning and maintenance support for the University of Arkansas at Monticello campus facilities, ensuring a safe and tidy environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Sweep, vacuum, mop, strip and wax interior floors.
• Empty waste containers, replace trash bags, and maintain cleanliness of furniture and surfaces.
• Clean restroom facilities, restock paper towels and tissue.
• Operate pressure washer for exterior windows and other outdoor surfaces.
• Report maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, including occasional overtime and on‑call support.

Required profile

• Ability to read and write basic English.
• Physical capability to lift, squat, reach overhead, and perform repetitive cleaning tasks.
• Flexibility to work beyond a standard 40‑hour week when needed.

Required skills

• Floor stripping and waxing techniques.
• Operation of pressure washing equipment.
