Infrastructure Software Engineer

About the role

Cape is building America’s most private and secure mobile carrier and needs an Infrastructure Software Engineer to shape its privacy‑focused telecommunications stack. You will work on greenfield projects, own end‑to‑end lifecycle development, and help protect consumer privacy and national security.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, and maintain privacy‑centric telecom and deployment infrastructure.
• Build and operate instrumentation and monitoring tooling to improve reliability and performance.
• Proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact users.
• Design, build, or integrate new telecommunications components and core network functions.
• Own the FedRamp accreditation and compliance process from start to finish.
• Define and champion best software engineering practices.
• Balance short‑term business needs with long‑term product vision.

Required profile

• 4+ years of software engineering or SRE experience.
• Strong familiarity with AWS.
• Fluency in Golang, Rust, Java/Kotlin, or Python.
• Experience building and using monitoring infrastructure and tools.
• Proven ability to design high‑availability systems.
• Passion for privacy and national security.
• Desire to work on software with real‑world impact.
