Industrial Automation Account Manager Trainee – Sales Development Program

About the role

The Grow Our Own (GO2) Industrial Sales Development Program is a 12‑month structured training experience for recent graduates and early‑career professionals. Participants receive classroom, technical and hands‑on training, mentorship, and real‑world customer interaction, leading to a full‑time Account Manager position.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in a 12‑month structured training program at Electro‑Matic and prepare for a sales territory in the Youngstown, OH/Pittsburgh, PA area.
• Learn consultative outside sales, territory management and customer relationship development through classroom and hands‑on training.
• Work alongside experienced Account Managers on customer visits, joint sales calls and product demonstrations.
• Develop product recommendations and technical solutions, and gain experience in prospecting, quoting, negotiating and closing business.

Required profile

• Motivated individual seeking a career in outside/field sales.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably with an engineering focus.
• Internship experience in manufacturing, distribution, engineering, industrial automation or sales is a plus.
• Strong communication, interpersonal skills and a competitive, performance‑driven mindset.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel, including occasional overnight trips and relocation for training.
