Indirect Tax Analyst

About the role

TerrAscend is seeking an experienced Indirect Tax Analyst to manage monthly indirect tax compliance across Property, Sales, Use, and Excise taxes. The role also supports income tax, business registration, and other U.S. and Canadian tax matters while driving process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file monthly indirect tax returns, extracting data from multiple source systems.
• Manage the end‑to‑end payment process, from review to online payment approval.
• Maintain tracking items such as payments, refunds, and notices for the tax department.
• Provide business support with updated licenses, tax clearances, and related tax information.
• Update the company’s tax online presence, including address, name, and officer changes.
• Maintain permanent tax files, including tax ID letters, licenses, and internal agreements.
• Reconcile tax general‑ledger accounts and compare them to filed returns.
• Identify and implement workflow improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or a related field (preferred).
• 2‑3 years of progressive indirect tax experience, preferably with corporate accounting exposure.
• Experience in manufacturing or retail environments is a plus.
• Working knowledge of state and local indirect tax rules.
• Familiarity with cash accounting functions such as AP, AR, and GL reconciliations.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a remote environment.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Epicor.
