Household Manager & Family Assistant with Childcare Support

About the role

We are a busy family of four in Norwell, MA seeking a Household Manager & Family Assistant to provide afternoon and early‑evening support, including childcare, meal preparation, household organization and occasional overnight coverage. The role is full‑time (35‑40 hours/week) with a flexible schedule to help keep our home calm, organized and running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Pick up children from school and activities, supervise after‑school time, assist with homework and prepare backpacks and snacks.
• Plan and prepare healthy, kid‑friendly meals and snacks five days a week; handle grocery shopping and kitchen clean‑up.
• Maintain daily household organization: light tidying, dishwashing, resetting home for bi‑weekly cleaners, seasonal clothing swaps and event/guest preparation.
• Manage laundry and linen rotation, keep laundry area stocked and organized.
• Restock pantry, fridge and household supplies; manage online orders, returns, gift shopping and mail handling.
• Perform occasional deep cleans (fridge, oven, baseboards) and special projects such as toy or gear organization.
• Support family calendar, coordinate children’s appointments and events, and provide light vehicle upkeep.
• Provide occasional overnight coverage when parents travel.

Required profile

• Warm, professional demeanor with a genuine love for children and experience in childcare.
• Highly organized, proactive and able to anticipate household needs without constant direction.
• Reliable transportation, ability to work with dogs and maintain a smoke‑free environment.
• CPR and First Aid certified or willing to obtain certification.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
