House Manager & Family Assistant with Afternoon Childcare

About the role

We are a busy family in Boston seeking a part‑time House Manager & Family Assistant to support daily household operations and provide afternoon childcare for our four‑year‑old. The role runs three weekdays from 1:30 pm to 6:30 pm, with occasional additional hours for mornings, evenings or date‑night coverage.

Key responsibilities

• Pick up the child from preschool, supervise afternoon activities, prepare snacks/meals, and handle bathroom assistance.
• Maintain household organization systems, light tidying, laundry, and inventory management.
• Run errands such as grocery shopping, donation drop‑offs, post office visits, and vehicle maintenance.
• Coordinate with cleaning staff, dog walker, and other vendors; oversee occasional deep‑clean projects.
• Assist with meal planning, snack preparation, and kitchen clean‑up.
• Track receipts, budgets, and support the family calendar for upcoming events.

Required profile

• Proactive, self‑directed and able to work independently once familiar with household routines.
• Reliable, emotionally steady and warm with young children; comfortable driving a child.
• Comfortable around dogs and possesses a clean driving record with a personal vehicle.
• Authorized to work in the United States and able to maintain a smoke‑free environment.
