About the role
Our Homemaking Apprentices work alongside the housing & homemaking team staff to help individuals who have recently transitioned into housing. This position is time‑bound and will end in June 2027 due to funding. Applicants must have completed the Cultivate Initiatives intern program.
Key responsibilities
- Empower individuals to maintain permanent, independent housing using a trauma‑informed approach.
- Assist Homemaking Specialists with neighbor support and home visits as needed.
- Collaborate with Housing Specialists to aid neighbors during enrollment and resolve issues.
- Support the Housing Coordinator with inventory management and package handling.
- Represent Cultivate Initiatives to partners, the Homeless Services Department, and the broader community.
Required profile
- Strong desire to learn and interest in social service work.
- Ability to take written notes effectively.
- Proficiency with a smartphone or laptop for daily tasks.
- Adaptability to various situations and environments.
