Groundskeeper / Porter – Student Living Community

About the role

The Groundskeeper/Porter is responsible for maintaining the appearance, safety, and curb appeal of The Accolade on Chestnut student living community. This role supports the service team by keeping common areas, grounds, and amenities clean and well‑kept.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect the community throughout the day to remove litter, debris, pet droppings, and ensure all common areas and amenities are tidy.
• Remove trash from vacant apartments before the make‑ready process, transport it to dumpsters or storage areas, and maintain those storage areas.
• Complete minor and routine service requests as directed by the Service Supervisor or Community Manager and assist the make‑ready specialist.
• Change locks according to property policy and verify that pool area gates operate safely and meet code requirements.
• Distribute resident notices and communications as needed.
• Report any hazards or potentially dangerous situations to supervisors promptly.
• Provide courteous customer service, answer resident questions, and address maintenance‑related complaints sensitively.
• Follow Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies, attend safety meetings, complete required OSHA training, and report accidents or incidents accurately.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s license required to operate a golf cart on the property.
• Ability to identify and report safety hazards.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and communication skills.
• Willingness to follow safety, risk‑management, and company policies.
• Capability to perform minor service tasks and assist with apartment turn‑over processes.
• Ability to change locks and ensure pool gate safety compliance.
