Ground Operator

About the role

Bedrock Energy is seeking a Ground Operator to join its geothermal drilling teams across the United States. This hands‑on field position supports pump operations, rig preparation, and fluid‑system execution, providing a solid foundation in the full drilling workflow.

Key responsibilities

• Operate pumps and manage fluid‑system start‑up and shut‑down.
• Assist the Mud Operator with valve control, inventory, material staging, and additive handling.
• Support rig‑up, demobilisation, bore swaps, pressure testing, and equipment preparation.
• Conduct rig walk‑arounds, report abnormalities in pumps, valves, hoses, and related equipment.
• Prepare tooling, loop setups, and general field readiness for upcoming operations.
• Perform routine maintenance such as filter changes, lubrication, and equipment checks.
• Develop familiarity with the entire rig spread, including tank systems, pumps, and support equipment.
• Follow directions from the Driller and Mud Operator while maintaining strong field awareness.
• Assist with other geothermal drilling tasks as required.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of relevant experience with O&G surface equipment (fracturing, cementing, workover) or water‑well pump operation.
• Experience in structured field operations involving equipment and support systems.
• Forklift certification or experience.
• Mechanically inclined, comfortable with physical field work, and detail‑oriented.
