About the role
The Graduate Research Assistant will join the COSMOS Research Center to develop and operationalize socio‑computational models that explain coordinated cyber campaigns. Working on‑campus, the assistant will collaborate with faculty to translate theoretical models into practical tools for analyzing social media, especially video‑based platforms.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement socio‑computational models of group formation, activation, decentralized decision‑making, and collective action.
- Apply these models to real‑world data from various social media platforms, focusing on video content.
- Collaborate with the research team to validate model outcomes and refine methodologies.
- Document research processes, results, and code for reproducibility.
- Present findings at internal meetings and contribute to academic publications.
Required profile
- Current graduate student or recent graduate with a bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, data science, sociology, communications).
- Strong interest in computational social science and cyber‑campaign analysis.
- Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary research team.
