Gas Lift Shop Technician

About the role

Join a global technology leader as a Gas Lift Shop Technician in Tyler, TX. You will support critical equipment, ensure reliable operations, and contribute to a safety‑focused, sustainable environment.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose faults, perform time‑critical repairs, and oversee equipment improvements.
• Maintain preventative‑maintenance schedules, breakdown reports, and part‑usage records.
• Evaluate non‑conforming products and decide on rework, repair, or scrap.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, pipe‑fitting, gas‑fitting, and welding equipment.
• Coordinate contractors for specialized repairs and maintain good internal customer relations.
• Lead Lean 5S+1 projects and coach line employees on basic maintenance procedures.
• Perform emergency‑response inspections and ensure compliance with all safety policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in a shop‑tech or field‑service role.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and operate a company vehicle (must be 21 years or older).
• Successful completion of motor‑vehicle record check, drug/alcohol test, criminal background check, and physical‑demand assessment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Basic computer skills and experience with CMMS.
• Forklift and pallet‑jack operation.
• Pipe fitting, gas fitting, and welding.
• Electrical troubleshooting using test equipment and circuit diagrams.
• Lean 5S methodology and inventory management.
