Full-Time Forklift Operator

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a full‑time Forklift Operator for its Birmingham, AL service center. You will safely move a variety of freight in and out of enclosed trailers up to 53 feet long, working on a roofed, non‑climate‑controlled dock.

Key responsibilities

• Operate a forklift to load and unload freight from trailers.
• Handle freight of different sizes and weights while adhering to safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate records by reading and processing manifests.
• Use computer displays to track shipments and update inventory.

Required profile

• Ability to bend, lift, and stoop without difficulty.
• Dependable and able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
• Prior forklift experience, preferably in a high‑volume setting.
• Basic familiarity with LTL (Less‑Than‑Truckload) operations is a plus.
