Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead financial operations for a manufacturing plant in the Columbus metro area. In this high‑visibility position you will partner directly with plant leadership to drive performance, strengthen processes, and support a great workplace culture.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all plant‑level financial functions, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analysis.
• Partner with plant leadership to evaluate manufacturing performance, identify cost‑saving opportunities and improve profitability.
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
• Conduct detailed analysis of production costs, inventory, labor and material consumption.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes and support internal and external audits.
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies, internal controls and applicable regulations.
• Assess operational and financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Develop, mentor and lead the plant accounting and finance team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting and operational finance.
• Experience with ERP systems; Infor Syteline is a strong plus.
• Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills.
• CPA, CMA or MBA highly preferred.
• Proven leadership, communication and business‑partnering abilities.
