FBI Special Agent – STEM Engineering Background

About the role

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is seeking candidates with a STEM engineering background to join as Special Agents. You will apply your technical expertise to protect the nation from cyber threats, terrorism, fraud, and other federal violations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and conduct investigations of potential violations of federal laws, cybersecurity incidents, and public safety threats.
• Exercise judgment, resourcefulness, and versatility to meet investigative demands.
• Create and maintain liaison relationships with federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and international law‑enforcement agencies.
• Maintain a level of physical fitness required for law‑enforcement duties.

Required profile

• U.S. citizen.
• Ability to obtain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• Meet the FBI’s employment eligibility requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in engineering or a related field, from a U.S. accredited institution.
