Faculty Position in Health Information Technology (HIT/HIM)

About the role

The University of Arkansas Pulaski Technical College seeks a dedicated faculty member to lead and enhance its Health Information Technology (HIT/HIM) program. This non‑tenure track position focuses on delivering high‑quality instruction, supporting student success, and advancing the department’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with departmental faculty and the Program Director to develop innovative instructional methods and curriculum improvements.
• Provide academic advising and mentorship to students, monitoring their performance, evaluations, and preceptorship experiences.
• Facilitate accreditation processes with national organizations and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Maintain up‑to‑date course materials and collect data to prepare students for registration as health information practitioners.
• Assist the Director in building partnerships with hospitals, clinics, physician offices, registries, and other healthcare delivery facilities.
• Contribute to policy development, problem‑solving, and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Participate in college committees and teams, supporting the department’s goals and initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience in health information technology education or related academic settings.
• Demonstrated ability to improve instructional capabilities and support student learning outcomes.
• Familiarity with accreditation standards and processes for health information programs.
