Expert Data Scientist – Commercial (AI/ML)

About the role

As an Expert Data Scientist at Nestlé Purina, you will drive enterprise‑wide AI and machine‑learning initiatives that create measurable commercial impact. You will work at the intersection of technical depth and consumer‑focused strategy, helping to shape the digital experience for pet owners across retail and direct channels.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, validation, and deployment of advanced statistical, machine‑learning, optimization and AI solutions for commercial and marketing challenges.
• Partner with brand, marketing, sales and category leaders to translate strategic priorities into AI‑enabled workflows and drive adoption across retail and consumer channels.
• Operationalize Generative AI solutions, including RAG pipelines, AI agents, copilots and multimodal applications to enhance marketing and commercial processes.
• Define model deployment strategies (AIOps/MLOps), monitoring, governance and lifecycle management.
• Develop reusable frameworks and accelerators to improve scalability and maintainability of AI solutions.
• Mentor junior data scientists and provide thought leadership on emerging technologies such as agentic AI and knowledge graphs.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Applied Statistics, Marketing Analytics, Economics, Computer Science or related field.
• 7+ years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in data science, advanced analytics and machine learning applied to commercial or consumer‑facing problems.
• 5+ years designing, developing, validating and deploying ML solutions (e.g., TensorFlow, scikit‑learn) in production environments.
• 3+ years of Python and SQL experience for advanced analytics, data engineering and model development.

• Salary range $133,000 – $188,000 per year.
