Engineering Project Manager – Software

About the role

Airbus is seeking an Engineering Project Manager – Software to lead planning, resource allocation, and delivery for its Flexrotor program software organization based in Bingen, WA. You will coordinate distributed engineering teams across multiple continents, ensuring smooth, predictable software delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Own software project planning and delivery, maintaining integrated plans in Smartsheet and translating status into JIRA.
• Manage resource allocation across concurrent projects, aligning engineers with skills, priorities, and workload.
• Facilitate development ceremonies (stand‑ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and ensure alignment with GitLab workflows.
• Coordinate cross‑functional communication, surface risks early, and provide concise project reporting to leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related field.
• Minimum five years of project or program management experience, with a focus on software development.
• Proven ability to track and communicate project status using tools such as Smartsheet, JIRA, or equivalents.
