Direct Support Professional

About the role

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) ensures the health and safety of residents with developmental disabilities. DSPs provide support identified in Individual Support Plans, collect data, and document services. This role offers meaningful experience for those passionate about human services and Cornerstone’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Provide supervision and guidance for residents during skill‑building activities.
• Implement individual support plans for residents.
• Assist with daily living activities, including preparing meals and personal hygiene.
• Develop rapport with residents and cultivate a safe, supportive relationship.
• Update resident case notes on a daily basis.
• Maintain appropriate staff‑to‑client ratios at all times.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Compassionate attitude toward the care and well‑being of others.
