Digital Support Intern (Unpaid)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee, in partnership with Documented, is seeking a motivated Digital Support Intern to help connect New York City immigrant communities with essential services. This unpaid, hands‑on internship offers experience in digital outreach, content creation, and community engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and map legal, housing, education, and social service providers for NYC immigrants.
• Conduct outreach to community‑based organizations and verify service information.
• Create infographics, visual explainers, and write scripts or captions for videos and social posts.
• Maintain Documented.Info’s social media channels with community‑focused content.
• Respond to public inquiries with support from the Community Liaison team.
• Assist the Asylum Team with orientations, intake processes, and client referrals.
• Support caseworkers by gathering documentation and conducting surveys.

Required profile

• U.S. citizen or holder of U.S. work authorization.
• Currently enrolled in or graduated within the past two years from a post‑secondary institution.
• Strong interest in immigrant rights, community outreach, and digital communication.
• Experience using social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
