Design Supervisor (Engineering)

About the role

Nucor’s Vulcraft Texas division is seeking an Engineering Design Supervisor to lead its Design Engineer and Shop Order teams in Grapeland, TX. The role focuses on delivering world‑class service to customers while upholding the company’s strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Mentor, coach, and evaluate the performance of design staff through regular appraisals.
• Ensure consistent application of current design policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Monitor weekly payroll, track vacation, and manage individual and production schedules.
• Provide rapid, effective solutions to meet customer specifications.
• Partner with division leadership to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support business development by engaging with customers and specifiers to promote Nucor’s value.

Required profile

• B.S. degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or passed the PE exam with required experience.
• Prior leadership experience in engineering design environments.
• Willingness to relocate for future advancement within Nucor.
