Critical Care Cardiovascular Intensivist (CVICU)

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a board‑certified Critical Care Cardiovascular Intensivist to join its CVICU team. The role involves delivering high‑quality care to both medical and surgical patients in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide in‑house intensive care coverage during daytime hours and participate in 24‑7 call coverage.
• Work closely with advanced practice providers, residents, cardiology fellows, cardiology attendings, and cardiac surgery attendings.
• Manage complex cardiovascular critical care cases, including postoperative cardiac surgery patients.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Required profile

• MD or DO degree.
• Board certification in Critical Care Medicine.
• Active medical license to practice in the United States.
• Full COVID‑19 vaccination or an approved exemption.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Required skills

• Expertise in cardiovascular intensive care management.
• Ability to function within a high‑acuity, team‑based clinical setting.
