Cellar Operator

About the role

Barrel One Collective is seeking an experienced Cellar Operator to join its Boston production brewery. The role supports brewhouse operations, fermentation management, filtration, and quality control in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Execute brewhouse operations including milling, hop additions, and wort production.
• Perform CIP/CUP sanitation of fermenters, brite tanks, and transfer lines.
• Manage yeast handling, pitching, cell counts, dry hopping, and gravity readings.
• Operate filtration systems and support pilot brewing.
• Monitor turbidity, CO₂, and O₂ levels to meet product specifications.
• Maintain accurate production documentation and logs.
• Support packaging and cross‑functional production teams.
• Ensure safe, clean, and organized workspaces.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of brewing or beverage manufacturing experience.
• Strong knowledge of fermentation, sanitation, and filtration processes.
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work varied shifts in a production environment.
• Forklift certification is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb, stand for extended periods, and work in temperature‑variable brewery environments.
