CDL‑A City Delivery Driver – Birmingham, AL

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a CDL‑A City Pickup & Delivery (P&D) driver for its Birmingham, AL service center. You will perform local freight deliveries and pickups, returning to the terminal each day while enjoying a home‑every‑night schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Execute multiple city stops per shift for freight delivery and pickup.
• Operate scanning equipment to track loads.
• Interact directly with customers and provide professional service.
• Perform lift‑gate deliveries using an electric pallet jack when required.
• Return to the terminal daily after completing assignments.

Required profile

• Valid CDL Class A with at least 1 year of verifiable Class A experience within the past 3 years.
• Clean driving record (MVR/PSP) with no serious violations and no more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years.
• Age 23 (or 21 if FMCSA transition criteria are met).
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment DOT physical, drug screen, and road test.
• Physical ability to bend, lift, and stoop safely.
• Dependable and able to operate equipment safely at all times.
