Cargo Handler – Mon-Fri 12pm-8pm

About the role

Forward Air is looking for reliable Cargo Handlers to join its fast‑paced dock operation. Working the 12:00 pm‑8:00 pm shift, Monday‑Friday, you will ensure freight is loaded and unloaded safely and efficiently, keeping the distribution network moving.

Key responsibilities

• Load and unload 53‑ft commercial trailers using hand trucks, pallet jacks and forklifts.
• Operate handheld scanners to track freight and update shipment information.
• Accurately label boxes and prepare items for outbound shipment.
• Verify freight documentation and condition to meet quality standards.
• Lift and move items up to 50 lb regularly and up to 90 lb occasionally.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Strong communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Team‑oriented attitude and ability to thrive in a fast‑moving environment.
• Flexibility to work weekends or overtime when needed.
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to obtain forklift certification.

Required skills

• Handheld scanner operation.
• Forklift operation (certification or willingness to be certified).
• Pallet jack and hand‑truck handling.
