Bridge Engineer – Design & Analysis (Mid-Level)

About the role

Parsons is looking for a Bridge Engineer to join its award‑winning Chicago bridge practice. You will work on a variety of road, light‑rail and heavy‑rail bridge projects, delivering design solutions from concept through construction.

Key responsibilities

• Complete bridge design tasks and plans for road/highway, light rail, and heavy rail projects, producing calculations, drawings, technical reports, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including geotechnical, roadway, and drainage designers.
• Provide technical guidance to CAD designers/drafters and junior engineers.
• Perform complex structural analysis and design work efficiently and accurately.
• Ensure quality and technical oversight of all deliverables.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in bridge structure analysis and design.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification with intent to obtain Professional or Structural Engineer licensure.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and adopt new design procedures and methods.

Required skills

• Design of steel, reinforced concrete, and prestressed concrete bridges.
• Proficiency with bridge engineering software.
• Experience using Bentley CAD tools.
• Structural analysis and design expertise.
