Bilingual Spanish‑Speaking Resident Advocate

About the role

The Resident Advocate provides security, safety, and supportive services to clients at the DOVE House shelter, with a focus on Spanish‑speaking survivors. This full‑time position works closely with the Spanish Advocacy Team to ensure timely response to calls, walk‑ins, and intakes.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain security, safety, and upkeep of the DOVE House shelter.
• Answer all helpline and dispatch phone calls and operate the 24‑hour crisis hotline.
• Assist with client intake and exit processes, supporting Spanish‑speaking survivors.
• Provide victim advocacy, document activities in the database, and support client action‑plan goals.
• Deliver training to volunteers and new staff advocates as assigned.

Required profile

• Proficient Spanish language skills.
• High school diploma and at least two years of experience working with the public.
• Clear criminal background check.
• Strong communication and phone skills.
• CPR/first aid certification within 30 days of hire.
