Benefits Plan Manager – Plan Administration

About the role

The Benefits Plan Manager in the Office of Employee Benefits will lead a team that administers complex retirement benefits programs for Federal Reserve employees, retirees and dependents. This position is based in Newark, NJ and works on system‑wide initiatives, vendor relationships, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Coach and support team members responsible for vendor management of system‑wide benefits programs.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge and certifications in legal, regulatory, and plan compliance matters.
• Use data analysis to recommend benefit plan strategies, evaluate design changes, and assess cost and participant impact.
• Lead continuous‑improvement efforts, identify policy enhancements, and propose appropriate benefit back‑age options.
• Develop and deliver presentations for oversight committees, Reserve Bank leadership, and Board of Governors stakeholders.
• Manage high‑visibility projects with measurable outcomes across the Federal Reserve System.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or four years of equivalent experience.
• Eight or more years of relevant experience, including at least three years of team management.
• Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement, manage projects effectively, and establish procedural rigor.
• Strong financial acumen, critical‑thinking, and excellent communication skills.
