Bakery Decorator

About the role

We are looking for a creative and detail‑oriented Decorator to join our bakery team at Brookshire Grocery Company in Tyler, Texas. The role involves designing and decorating cakes and other baked goods for display and customer orders while supporting daily bakery operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, ice, and decorate cakes and assorted baked items according to customer requests and store promotions.
• Trace and copy drawings onto cakes using templates or free‑hand sketches.
• Identify, match, and blend icing colors, making judgments on texture, aroma, flavor, and taste.
• Select appropriate decorating tools and materials, and operate equipment safely.
• Maintain clean, safe, and sanitary work areas and ensure food‑safety standards are met.
• Provide friendly customer service, answer questions, and suggest additional products.
• Stay current with cake‑decorating trends and plan production schedules around seasonal events.

Required profile

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to work under time pressure and make quick decisions.
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for creative food presentation.
