Associate IT Service Center Representative

About the role

The Associate IT Service Center Representative provides first‑line technical assistance to staff, students and faculty within the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Working in the IT Technical Support Center, the associate helps resolve hardware, software and network issues while delivering excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, log and triage incoming service requests via phone, email or ticketing system.
• Diagnose and resolve desktop, laptop, peripheral and basic network problems.
• Escalate complex incidents to senior technicians or specialized teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation of incidents and solutions in the knowledge base.
• Assist with equipment inventory, setup, and routine maintenance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; some post‑secondary education in information technology preferred.
• Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple tickets.

Required skills

• Basic troubleshooting of Windows operating systems.
• Familiarity with common office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
• Understanding of standard networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, Wi‑Fi).
