Associate Director, Special Events

About the role

The Associate Director, Special Events will lead the planning, execution, and coordination of special events at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). This senior role supports UAMS’s mission by delivering high‑impact events that enhance community engagement and institutional visibility.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the development and implementation of special event strategies.
• Manage event budgets, timelines, and resources.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to ensure successful event delivery.
• Provide leadership and guidance to event staff and volunteers.

Required profile

• Current or former University of Arkansas System employee or graduate assistant, or an external candidate with legal authority to work in the United States.
• Demonstrated experience in event management or related leadership roles.
