Assistant Professor of Education Professions

About the role

McNeese State University seeks a full‑time, nine‑month, tenure‑track Assistant Professor in the Education Professions department. The appointment begins in August 2026 and includes teaching, advising, and partnership responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver 12 credit hours of undergraduate coursework each semester.
• Advise and mentor teacher candidates.
• Serve as liaison between the university and partner school districts.
• Provide instructional coaching and mentor teacher training.
• Collaborate on accreditation data collection and analysis.
• Support college initiatives and district partnerships.

Required profile

• Earned doctorate in Education (Early Childhood, Elementary, or Curriculum & Instruction) by start date.
• Valid teaching license with early childhood (PK‑3) or elementary (1‑5) certification.
• Three to five years of early childhood or elementary teaching experience.
• Experience with Common Core State Standards or equivalent frameworks.
• Background in high‑quality curriculum development and technology integration.
• Experience working with high‑needs or traditionally underserved students.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Common Core State Standards or equivalent.
• Curriculum design and assessment expertise.
• Proficiency in classroom technology application.
