About the role
Saint Louis University seeks an Admission Counselor I to support enrollment goals for its Madrid Campus. Based in St. Louis, MO, you will guide prospective students and families through the admissions journey, from initial contact to enrollment.
Key responsibilities
- Establish and maintain communication with high‑school, college, and post‑traditional students, parents, and counselors.
- Provide counseling on admission requirements, financial aid, FAFSA, career planning, housing, and scholarship opportunities.
- Identify, recruit, and enroll qualified candidates within a designated market, managing a recruitment territory and travel schedule.
- Review academic credentials, make admission decisions, and assist with scholarship allocation.
- Participate in recruitment team initiatives, special programs, and enrollment strategy development.
- Perform administrative duties such as composing letters, compiling reports, processing applications, and maintaining confidential files.
Required profile
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Effective presentation, planning, and organizational abilities.
- Basic research skills and proficiency with personal computer software.
- Ability to learn and apply institutional policies, manage schedules, and work independently.
- Team‑oriented mindset with willingness to travel, work weekends or evenings, and handle stress.
