About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking an Adjunct Professor to join its Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases. This volunteer faculty position involves providing direct clinical care while contributing to the education of medical students and residents.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver outpatient and inpatient clinical services to patients.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests.
• Develop and implement treatment plans for acute and chronic illnesses in collaboration with supervising physicians.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and document patient encounters accurately.
• Assess changes in patient status and initiate appropriate interventions.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or board‑eligible physician with specialized training in infectious diseases.
• Completed an accredited medical education program.
• Fully vaccinated against COVID‑19 or holds an approved exemption.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
• Diagnostic test interpretation.
• Clinical documentation and record‑keeping.
