Accounting Manager – Stores Accounting (Zappos & Shopbop)

About the role

Amazon is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join the Stores Accounting team supporting Zappos and Shopbop. You will own critical operational accounting processes, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements for Amazon’s retail subsidiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the monthly close cycle, account reconciliations, flux and variance analysis, and audit support activities.
• Lead automation projects to design tools and processes that improve financial statement accuracy and efficiency.
• Support the expansion of Amazon’s retail business by implementing controlled accounting processes.
• Act as a trusted consultant to diverse stakeholder teams across Amazon.
• Make strategic decisions that drive accounting operations and process improvements.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams of varied backgrounds.

Required profile

• 5+ years of finance or accounting experience, preferably in operational accounting.
• Proven expertise in month‑end close, account reconciliation ownership, variance analysis, and audit support.
• Strong background in documenting accounting requirements and designing processes.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and influence teams on complex, ambiguous initiatives.
