Youth Program Coordinator – Outdoor Pursuits

About the role

The Youth & Family Programs Attendant will lead and supervise youth activities within Discovery Land Company's Outdoor Pursuits department at Atlantic Fields, near Hobe Sound, FL. You will ensure safety, teach skills, and create memorable outdoor experiences for members and guests.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and instruct individuals or groups in activities such as fishing, obstacle courses, sport games, crafts, hikes, archery, axe throwing, equestrian operations, and racquet sports.
• Train members and guests on safety requirements and guidelines.
• Clean, maintain, and prepare equipment for all activities.
• Coordinate youth programming to provide a healthy, safe, and memorable experience.
• Accompany and supervise participants on- and off‑site events, including transportation in a company vehicle.
• Participate in overnight camping experiences as needed.
• Set up and break down department activities according to SOPs.
• Demonstrate and train others on safe usage of Outdoor Pursuits equipment.
• Maintain facilities and equipment in a clean, safe, and secure manner.
• Act as a brand ambassador, reflecting the club’s hospitality standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Education, Early Child Development, or related field (or actively pursuing).
• Knowledge of outdoor recreation and marine environments.
• Prior experience in teaching, daycare, youth leadership, or guest service.
• Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and strong communication skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and long hours as required.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and stay calm during busy periods.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
