Yard Technician

About the role

OEG is seeking a Yard Technician to support its Cargo Logistics Division in Lafayette, Louisiana. The role focuses on maintaining the rental fleet of cargo carrying units (CCUs) and related equipment, ensuring they are clean, certified, and ready for shipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled assembly, inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance on rental equipment.
• Verify that all equipment is cleaned, maintained, and certified before shipment.
• Support compliance technicians with visual inspections and basic maintenance of CCUs, tanks, and other fleet assets.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and provide technical support to management and customers.
• Conduct regular inventory checks and enter incoming product data into the system.
• Prepare products for shipment, including final inspections, packaging, and loading onto trucks.
• Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material‑moving equipment safely.
• Assist with loading and unloading of equipment, ensuring proper securing methods.
• Train other technicians on product features and proper usage.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to all safety policies and PPE requirements.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving initiative.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and service manuals.
• Commitment to safety, including reporting hazards and participating in safety meetings.
• Willingness to provide feedback for process and safety improvements.
