World Languages Teacher – District-wide (NY)

About the role

The Lockport City School District is seeking a dedicated World Languages Teacher to serve students district‑wide for the 2026‑2027 school year. The teacher will deliver secondary‑level instruction in one or more world languages, fostering linguistic proficiency and cultural awareness.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess world language lessons aligned with Next Generation Learning Standards and NY State assessments.
• Integrate appropriate technology tools to enhance instruction and student engagement.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of both accelerated and struggling learners.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary programs and support school initiatives.
• Maintain a positive classroom environment using effective management techniques.
• Contribute to the district’s strategic plan and culturally responsive sustaining framework.

Required profile

• New York State certification in a World Language at the secondary level.
• Working knowledge of Next Generation Learning Standards and NY State assessments.
• Proficiency in at least one foreign language; knowledge of multiple languages such as French, Spanish, or Latin is strongly preferred.
